French first lady Brigitte Macron, who is 25 years older than her husband, Emmanuel Macron, has plans to freshen up the Élysée Palace — the Parisian presidential residence built in 1722.
“I want to bring in a team of young designers. I want more modern tapestry. We want to bridge the classical and the 21st century,” she told 45 guests from American Friends of Versailles, including Susan Gutfreund, Jeannie Lawrence and Jonathan Marder.
