A sweaty Prince Charles[1] made Grace Coddington[2] sweat too decades ago when he posed for Vogue magazine in a crown and a long, white ermine cape.

Coddington, former creative director for the fashion magazine, recalled the harrowing photo shoot at Alina Cho’s symposium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this week.

His Royal Highness had just come from a polo match and needed makeup to cover his ruddy complexion. But Coddington said the powder needed to be reapplied over and over again because he was sweating.

When Charles commented that she must do this often, Coddington replied: “No, actually, this is my first time,” which she later regretted telling him because he never spoke to her again, she said.
