Mayor Bill de Blasio[1] and Gov. Andrew Cuomo[2] had dueling Super Bowl parties on the Upper East Side, and Cuomo, like the New England Patriots, easily won the day.

Cuomo had 200 guests at Dorrian’s Red Hand on Second Avenue, just a long punt from Gracie Mansion, including City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, US Rep. Carolyn Maloney, designer (and brother-in-law) Kenneth Cole and de Blasio’s former spokeswoman Lis Smith.

“It was absolutely packed,” one guest told me. It was hard to tell which team Cuomo was rooting for, he was so busy pressing the flesh and posing for photos.

De Blasio, who grew up near Boston and was rooting for the Patriots, had about 40 people at Gracie Mansion, none noteworthy.

A spokesman said, “The mayor watched the game with a few friends. It wasn’t a public party.”
