We all know dogs and cats don't always get along. Now there's proof. Margaret Werker, 73, of Colorado Springs, pleaded guilty to a felony animal cruelty charge. Her offense? Tossing poisoned chicken over the fence to her neighbor's dog -- while wearing a cat shirt. Get it? Remember... she represents the rest of us!
Seems her neighbor called authorities to report that a home security camera captured video of Werker throwing something over the fence into his backyard aimed at his dog. That was no cup of sugar. Turned out to be chicken laced with antifreeze. Brilliant plan. In the end the dog didn't bite... literally. But Maggie still had to have her day in court.
Due to her age (and mental state?) and the fact that no one died, the judge ordered Werker to make a donation to the Humane Society and deferred her sentence as long as she stays out of trouble.
Check out her mug shot... nice shirt, right? A symbol of the resistance. No dogs allowed for Margaret, at least if they are next door and barking too much. Somebody needs to toss that chicken back into her yard.
